My sister lived in Hazelbury Crescent , a really lovely road, beautiful gardens . I was 11 years old & would push my
nephew in his pram. I would enjoy looking at all the beautiful roses & flowers. When I had a day off school, only to go
to the Odeon. To watch Swan Lake by a Russian Troupe a life performance.

I remember my mum buying me clothes when I was little at a shop called Tots and Teens in the arcade in Bury Park. In
later years I used to go to the Spanish Doll and I had my first ever curry next door there but can’t remember the name
of the restaurant but I was a regular as the food was just amazing! Those were the days.

In the 60’s there was a cafe called The Spanish Doll. Every Saturday morning my mum used to take me there to meet
up with my Nanna Aunties and cousins for drinks. My favourite was a Horlicks. My dr was down there too opposite to
Woolworths. Such a lovely place with lots of shops.

I was born in Bury Park Road in 1954, the 4th of 5 children...Have lovely memories of Bury Park. We all went to Dunstable
Road infants and juniors school then on to Beech Hill which became a mixed school in 1966..I had one year as a girls
school.....Bury Park was a great shopping center in those days, you could find everything without having to go into town

My old Mum, every Friday got my Brother to take her down Bury Park to all the Indian food shops for all her Masla’s
condiments, Indian vegetables like Okra, Mooli, Aubrigines, Corriander etc. Also sometimes as a treat sometimes she’d
come home with the very lovely Kofta Kebabs in Chapatis and Indian sweets such us Jalebies and Barfi a very rich milk
sweet which was one and still is one of my favourites today, Happy Memories.
